I'm going on one of my periodic trips to the Pacific Northwest today. Visiting that part of the country is always an adventure for me, because I know a ton of people in the area. Many of whom don't live within a hundred miles of each other. But they're still much closer to one another than my home is to any of them, so often if I get out that way I try to visit all of them.

Well, no, I don't try to visit all of them. I try to visit a large fraction of them, though. This trip will include four separate plane flights, two short train trips (or possibly a couple hundred miles of driving), four metropolitan areas, and two states. I plan to see: Lut's mother, an undetermined number of Lut's other relatives, two cousins, their spouses, an aunt and an uncle, five cousins-once-removed, one sister, one brother-in-law, one niece, two nephews, seven friends, and an undetermined number of friends-of-friends.

When I list it out like that, it sounds like an awful lot of people and traveling.

I'm skipping the trip out to Victoria this time 'round: instead, my Canadian friend is coming to Portland while I'm there.

We'll see how much of this trip I manage to record. I don't do a very god job about writing out my vacations, overall, but I'm still better about that than my everyday life. I'm more interested in remembering the vacations. ;)
