A few notes about the polling questions!

Some of these answers beg for more questions (what kind of nonbinary? Why are you unaging? What specific things do you make?) I might do a follow-up poll with more customization, or I might just pick some extra traits. If you want to leave a comment suggesting a particular flavor of one answer (I'm unaging because I'm a vampire), feel free! I might pick one of them, or use it in the next polls (if there are any).

The genre of this RPG will be "fantasy romance", because it's my journal and that's what I like. The focus will be on "find your romantic happily-ever-after". The "conflict" question is not "make this not be a romance" but "is the protag doing anything else while falling in love?" This is not "Author vs Readers, you must be Clever to Win". I would say "it'll be more like a dating sim", but I've never played a dating sim. So. It'll be like how I imagine a dating sim to be: lots of choices between options that are mostly good.

Also, I decided to call this a Poll RPG because "Choose Your Own Adventure" is (a) trademarked and (b) CYOA is an abbreviation used in business with totally different connotations and (c) it's not like "Choose Your Own Adventure" is the most intuitive phrase imaginable for the category of "pick what the protagonist does next" stories. It's the one we use because that specific brand pioneered the style and put out a bunch of books. It's not like, say, trademarking Space Marines or some other phrase that a dozen other people came up with before them but hadn't thought to trademark.

Yeah, it's nice to get everything in one place. And also to be able to use checkboxes so people can pick multiple options if they can't decide. :)

This poll has had me pondering hermaphrodites in a setting where they show up enough for society to decide on a role for them (as societies are want to do for everyone).

If practical maker and enchanter remain the top picks for vocation and talent I'm thinking someone who makes everyday enchantments. Not wonder swords but better plows and stain resistance for garments. Which would be good steady work even if not something bringing in piles of gold.

(Hmm, also tempted to start putting together random tables to play with)

Yay, I found you here! :-) Probably going to abandon the sinking LJ ship, I'm mostly still there to follow your entries anyway... Anyway, voting was unexpectedly fun. Maybe I should put polls together for myself for character generation?? I didn't realize you could check more than one box at first so I went back and added some where I didn't really want to choose just one... Anyway, this looks fun, I'm looking forward to it!

Yeah, I'm abandoning LJ too, though to be honest moving from LJ to DW feels more like swimming from the rotting hulk of one sunken ship to another ship that's also sunk, but is not rotting. :D I haven't decided if I'm going to move The Moon Etherium's feed to DW yet, but I probably will. That's a more difficult decision because TME's autoposter will not post to both DW and LJ; I have to pick one.

Great analogy there! Though maybe if enough of us move over here we can lift the good ship Dreamwidth and get her sailing again? :-) But, yes, I'd rather not be beholden to the laws of a country where "gay propaganda" is illegal- I assume depicting people who are not straight as happy, normal, natural people like everyone else is propaganda... And, sure, I doubt any of my posts will ever have more than 3000 views in 24 hours, but if that should happen, I don't want to be on the list of a government who then give themselves the right to ask my IP provider who I am in the real world. So, I might still read on LJ, but I don't think I'll post there anymore...

You can vote again on DW if you like! I explicitly allowed it because I remember one friend could not resist doing so on a different poll. :) I don't want people voting like 3 times on Twitter and 4 times on DW because they have multiple accounts everywhere. XD But I don't mind voting once each place. The votes in both place are gonna all get added together for this one.
