A quiz on RPG purity?
May. 20th, 2003 08:05 pmOK, this I'll take.
I have the feeling my results would be different if I took it again. I may've answered some of the "Sensitive Roleplaying" questions from the GM-perspective (which you're not supposed to do, and seems unfair) and I didn't answer some of the Hacklust questions from the GM perspective (I refuse to have it count against me that I had a player who always wanted to be a paladin because he liked their powers. I did kick him out of the profession after he said his PC was going to torture a captive I expected him to rescue. I do take full responsibility for setting a PC up to fight against an entire country, however. *blush*)
Anyway, maybe I'll take it again some time and see if my score changes much if I'm a lot more conservative, or liberal, in my interpretation of certain answers.
Lut expressed surprise at my dearth of systems knowledge. (Lut would also like everyone to know that he was joking.) The truth is, I don't care much about gaming systems and I actively dislike prepackaged settings and campaigns. So I'm pretty limited on what I know about different systems. Plus, some of the relatively few systems I have played in -- Mutant Chronicles and Nightlife, to name two -- don't show up on the list. Hmph. :)

Date: 2003-05-21 03:15 pm (UTC)Champions really lent itself well to conversations about the real world. ("Did you know a TV set can be represented quite well as 2d6 of mind control?" "Hmm, yes, I do believe it does, though you ought to make it continuous, too .... ")

Date: 2003-05-21 12:04 pm (UTC)I was a bit surprised at my systems score also. I realize it comes from playing a few systems very intently. I ran Runequest in person, online on BBSs, and a couple times in email for years, and pretty much blew over Toon in it's many incarnations.
Wait... Bunnies and Burrows was missing, as was Space Opera, Pendragon, and Other Suns. Looks like he totatlly missed the FGU product line. Lace and Steel wasn't there either - which I've never played, but did spend a lot of time talking with one of the playtesters.
Sniff Dice... only occasionally fall out of my pocket in public. Mew.
