The Mirari campaign is complete.

I woke up this morning thinking about that, and I still can't quite wrap my brain around it. It's been just a little less than two years now, since Greywolf's Mutant Chronicles wrapped up, and I said to Tuftears and Kagetsume, on one fateful evening: "Oh no! With MC over I won't be able to play with you guys any more. That's it: we need to start a new campaign."

That's it ... I need to start a new campaign.

Mirari isn't quite done yet. We've got the epilogue to write, and the players and GMs have various different ideas on what they want done in it. But I don't see me spending a lot of time on the epilogue. The others can, if they want, but I think one more session to wrap up some of the loose ends will do it for me. I'd just as soon leave some ends dangling. I like the idea of a story going on; of not everything being known about how it ends. Besides, nothing ever really ends, does it?

So I figure it's OK for me to start thinking seriously about what I'm doing next.

Lut offered the other night to join in my next campaign, which is very exciting for me. Lut and I fell in love online; I love role-playing with him. I'm looking forward to that. But it does mean that the choice of campaign ideas I offer will be more limited, to only those ideas that Lut likes.

I'm looking forward to it, really. I can't believe after all this time, Mirari is finally over. I've been saying "almost over now" since, I don't know, December at least. It's been a long and fascinating ride, and it came to a satisfying conclusion. I'm proud of it, and of all the people who've been involved. Thanks to my co-GM [livejournal.com profile] tuftears, assistant GMs [livejournal.com profile] jordangreywolf and [livejournal.com profile] sophrani, special guest GM Bambridge, and our dauntless players, [livejournal.com profile] kagetsume, Envoy, and Brenna. It was a long time coming, but it was a good journey, and we arrived at a good end. I'd never have guessed when we started out where we would arrive.

I won't be starting on the next game immediately. That'll probably wait until the epilogue for Mirari is complete. Besides, I need to work on Prophecy, which has been very neglected this week, and rather neglected for most of the month. I'll need to get cracking to make even my modest goal for April. For now, however, it's back to work at Toddler Bank for me.

Well, I should hope that a new campaign would have some time spent planning things out - not just leaping into it right off, with no clear idea of where to go with it.

Anyway, congratulations! It's great to see Mirari get this far. (Now I just have to get around to editing the rest of the logs, and cleaning up the log library as a proper record of the adventure. ;) For one thing, the plot threads could use some revision....)

Any previews at all on ideas you might be considering for future plots?

Personally, I plan to savor the Mirari campaign being done for a while.

After that, well, I'm thinking about being a player again, for a change, but if you're going to have Lut in, maybe I'd better offer to co-GM or NPC to keep things from being overly burdensome on you! I liked splitting the work between us, you and [livejournal.com profile] jordangreywolf kept me on track and you did the really great characters, and I handled the uncomplicated action-type stuff, the way I look at it.

I've advised our players that if they still have any confusions or questions about Mirari as a campaign, they should write them down and we'll answer them after the epilogue next week. };)

Hi, Rowan, it's Bambridge! :) I totally forgot you had an LJ when I got mine, I'll watch yours from now on.

Anyway, I only wish I had gotten more free time to join you guys in the game, because I had a blast every time I got to help out. I'm moving to LA soon, maybe I'll have more free time to put to role-play in the future.

Mutant Chronicles was a good time, I kind of miss Jim, Jet, Duffy, Kage, and heck, even that cyborg lout. :)
