KFC: Slowest Fast Food in the Nation

I really like Indian food. Lut doesn't care for it at all. So when I want Indian food, I order takeout, and Lut asks me to pick up something from the KFC on the way.

Which would be fine, except the KFC on the way is incredibly slow. I phone in my order for the Taj Mahal Indian restaurant, and they tell me "it'll be ready in 10-15 minutes". It takes 10-15 minutes to drive there, and I think only once has my order not been ready when I arrived (it took a couple extra minutes that time).

I either walk in to KFC or go through the drive-through to place my order. On average, they also take 10-15 minutes to fill my order from the time I place it.

Which would be fine, if only I could phone in my order to them, too. Y'know, in the age of smartphones and internet ordering, fast food restaurants really aren't as convenient as they used to be.

Two small thoughts on this: 1) fast food in general shouldn't be that slow; from time to time that kind of lag is reasonable (e.g., if you're always going close to closing and they have to make stuff fresh for you, since frying takes a while), but if you're hitting during normal meal hours and always getting 10m delays, then they're probably not making targets and you should contact their branch office. 2) Call in your order to Taj Mahal when you get to the KFC? :-)

I usually hit them at slightly off-peak hours, like 4PM or 8PM. Often it's been for a big order -- Lut's been getting their "Holiday Feast" which is a ten-piece bucket with three sides (that he then eats for the next four days). But the last time I got there around 3PM and only ordered a three-piece meal, and it still took them 12 minutes. To give me the wrong order, to boot.

I was just going to stop going there and forget about it, but, okay, they have an online complaint form so I filled it out. If I can post it on LJ I can at least do the company the favor of telling them too. >:)

Wow. The KFCs I've gone to are usually about as fast as normal fast food places, which basically means 'as fast as the line'. That's pretty horrible!

Better than Jurann's favorite Denny's taking an hour to get you your food though. 9.9
