Happy Birthday, Terrycloth!

Last year, I made a good-evil-neutral set of icons for terrycloth for his birthday. I always wanted to do an order-chaos pair to complete the set*, and finally did. :) Icon-size and full-size versions here for the curious. Hope you like them, Terry!

* Well, no, I still need to do lawful good, lawful evil, chaotic good and chaotic evil to really complete the set ... maybe next birthday.

Hee, thanks. As far as completing the set, Chaotic Good and Lawful Evil were eliminated by wizards of the coast to avoid confusing small children with the idea that people can be judged on more than one axis.

You're welcome. :) And no big deal missing my birthday, I hardly ever remember other people's.

They really got rid of lawful evil and chaotic good? But kept lawful good and chaotic evil? O_o What alignment is the Mafia now?

They're just 'evil'. They decided that the line between neutral evil and lawful evil was unimportant, same with between neutral good and chaotic good.

And all the lawful/chaotic/neutral-neutral alignments are just 'unaligned'.

Instead of the big Wheel of Morality, they've got:

Gods are entities that live on finite (but potentially arbitrarily large) islands in the astral sea. They can be any alignment. A LOT of them are unaligned.

Angels are servants of the gods. Even evil gods.

Devils are ex-servants of the gods who rebelled, but they still come from the astral. 'Hell' is a huge-ass prison for devils and for people who sold their souls to devils. Devout evil people go to evil heavens instead, to serve their evil gods. Devils are all 'evil'.

Elementals come from 'the elemental chaos', which is all the elemental planes rolled into one big mess. Most elementals are evil because...

Demons come from this big nexus of doom in the middle of the elemental chaos (it might still be called the abyss), and they're the chaotic evil hordes that want to destroy and devour everything. They basically tainted the whole elemental plane when they showed up.

Undead come from the Shadowfell, which is a lot like the old plane of shadow, and aren't *inherently* evil and anti-life anymore. Although most are still evil and anti-life.

Elves come from... er... what's the name for it? There's a parallel elf-world that elves come from (and giants, and trolls, and lots of other things). Teleportation effects use it mostly instead of using the astral plane.

Then there's... some other group that comes from 'outside the universe', that's the source of all the aberrations like beholders and aboleth and stuff.
