Bowled over

Tonight, I was in the kitchen making dinner for myself. Lut came in and wanted to fix chili. He checked the dishwasher and sighed.

"What's wrong?" I asked

"They're dirty."

"Didn't remember to run it earlier?"

"It's not full. But my favorite bowl is dirty and I wanted to use it." He sighed again, and fished it out of the dishwasher to wash in the sink, rather than use one of the dozen other bowls we own that were clean.

I sighed inwardly too, because *I* had wanted to use the same bowl for dinner. But I didn't fight him over it.

The bowl in question is one handmade by bard_bloom, and that beetiger sent to us over three years ago when they were cleaning out their house.

Just in case you ever wonder if it was appreciated: yes, it is. Thank you both, again.

I frequently handwash dishes that I want to use... mainly because I don't trust the dishwasher to do the job. (No, I'm not overly cynical of appliances, I just know that I can do a more reliable job than it can. I blame our low water pressure, and/or our hard water.)
