Nov. 15th, 2005 08:42 pmIt's been a month since I did the measuring thing last. I've been putting it off for the last couple of days because I was sure nothing good would come of it, but I finally took my measurements tonight.
Chest: 37.375"
Waist: 28.5"
Hips: 38.375"
Hair 21.75"
Everything's gone up since the last time, although not by much. Except my hair, which claims to have grown another inch. I'm not sure I believe it. But at least it's moving in the right direction.
Apart from the Florida trip, I've remained fairly diligent about exercising: six times a week for about an hour per session. I've also been doing a little jogging on the walk to/from work, usually in addition to the regular exercise session. So, presumably, the problem isn't that I'm not exercising enough but that I've been gorging on junkfood. Especially since there've been tons of Halloween chocolate around the office. I've also gained four or five pounds.
Sigh.
Or maybe I'm just at the peak of perfection for my physical stats and I should be delighted by their nearly static levels.
Um. Yeah.
Anyway, about hair.
My original goal was to trim my hair once per month. I haven't yet trimmed it this time. A few years back,
gen took a picture of her hair and took a poll on where she should cut it. I always thought that looked like a fun thing to do, so I'm doing it this time.

Massive amounts of hair care?
Date: 2005-11-16 03:26 am (UTC)Wash and condition it. This takes perhaps as much as two or three minutes a day.
Brush and braid it for work. This takes another two or three minutes.
Unbraid and brush it when I get home. Another minute?
Usually I do the brushing and braiding while doing something else (walking to work, reading LJ, etc.) Even if I had short hair, I'd have to spend SOME time brushing it. If I shaved my head, I'd have to spend time keeping it shaved. If I kept my hair short, I'd probably want it done by a professional, so instead of taking two minutes to do it myself at home, I'd have to go out and have someone else do it, which might by itself take more time on a regular basis then I'm currently spending on my hair. Most of the women I know with short hair spend far more time fussing with it than I do.
And yet so many people tell me that long hair takes "so much time" to care for. All I can assume is that they're all doing a bunch of stuff with their hair that I don't. Or maybe my hair is unnaturally easy to take care of.
In any case, you need not worry that I have a burden of massive amounts of hair care. It troubles me not at all -- in fact, my hair bothers me infinitely less as an adult than it did when I was a child and had it short.
Blowdrying?

I must say, though, if you go with anything shorter than 'C' I will personally have to come up there and.. um... Well, honestly, don't know what I could really do beyond pout on your doorstep, so yeah, I'll stick with that. *readies with a pout*
