Not a lot of information I can give, the situation is a little fluid. Got the contractor's paperwork out of the way, finishing the security background paperwork now.
I was unemployed, a contracting firm had gotten my resume through the college, and contacted me. The contractor is saying I'm to be a 'helpdesk technician', but during the interview the client is talking about a massive PC system conversion - moving 11k PCs from one communication network to a new one, didn't get a lot of details. Oh, and on the side doing helpdesk work, password resets, advice on dealing with virii, general pc&lan hardware&software support. That much was clear.
Promising things, the client liked my background and experience, and without warning offered me the team lead position. Contractor is saying its not a team lead slot, but a senior technician. Sooo, waiting til I'm actually doing the work, to find out what I'm supposed to do.
And while the contractor is constantly forgetting I'm still finishing my associate's degree, the client was sounding clear on my need to be at class in the evenings.
The only thing that bugs me about this job, is the people walking around. They are Marines, and they aren't wearing the camo uniform I used to, back in my tour of duty. So, when seen out of the corner of my eye, while the general shape is right, the hind brain keeps trying to overlay them with a woodland camo. Gives me a slight headache. Eh, if that's the worst, I'll be happy.
