Peace and Joy, page 10

This is possibly my favorite page out of the whole series, even though the proportions between the aphids and the faeries are totally whacked. I had in mind that the faeries are about 6 inches high, and I'm thinking aphids are, oh, maybe an 1/8th of an inch. The aphids really shouldn't be more than fist-sized relative to Joy. On the other hand, I don't actually show the faeries relative to any humans. So maybe Diana is actually much smaller than a human herself and the faeries are actually only an inch or less in height. Yeah. Right.
Anyway, I like this page mostly just because I got very giggly drawing Joy charging in amongst the aphids. Kicking carapace and taking names! Also, I actually squeezed a decent number of panels into it, which pleases me for no particularly good reason. And I like the way the aphids look, especially the one booted off the leaf, who looks rather confused to me. I was tempted to give the aphids thought balloons ("Mama?") but decided against personifying them.

In the last panel, I'm imagining Joy with a whip. It would suit her outfit, don't you think? That would be an entirely different sort of comic.
You enjoy my titles. Why don't you make some of your own? Make a title for each page when you post it.
I might call this one "Hudson's Revenge", but I have a penchant for the dramatic and cryptic.
