Lut: "I don't know. I'm sure that, while wandering the aisles of Costco, you will find some other necessity we need, like a giant stuffed purple unicorn."
Me: *giggling* "I love you."
Lut: "Love you, too. See you at 4:15."

Last November, Costco was selling giant stuffed animals, including purple unicorns, for startlingly low prices -- $15-$20. I bought one, as well as a giant stuffed snake and a giant white tiger with cub, to fulfill my long-unmet need to own giant stuffed animals. :)

I got one last year from Costco. She has a sparkly mane and stars embossed on her collar. She makes me think of you. :D

That was what got me all bouncy last time -- that's an exact description of mine! I think we might have adopted sisters. :) I think you got the elder -- mine is much smaller than the one you posted the picture of...

One of the cool things about having kids is that you have an excuse to buy toys and stuffed animals. Not that an excuse should be necessary, I just feel better having one.

I considered buying ones for my niece and nephew, but giant stuffed animals are expensive to ship. So I kept them. O:)

Adults just don't let themselves play enough (unless, of course, they're teachers or youth counsellors and then they find they relate better to kids than other adults (silly grin!)).

Hehe... that's why I love giving adults stuffed toys.... cause they'll never buy em for themselves.

As a matter of fact I have a stuffed polar bear tucked in amongst a handful of Canadian goodies going south with me next week.

I own a fair collection of fuzzy totems myself, and I make NO apologizes for it!

So, do you have to buy the purple unicorns in bulk? How does that work?

No, you can buy them individually. Costco sells quite a few items that aren't "in bulk"; I'm not sure how they fit with the whole warehouse-discounting philosophy. I think it's that Costco will buy a whole lot of a few specific items -- several dozen large purple unicorns or Dirt Devil 2000s or whatever -- as opposed to a typical store, which might stock several different types of vacuum cleaners, and so not have very many of each one. Costco saves by buying bulk on what they do stock, and passes the savigns (theoretically) on to the customer.

This said, whether or not Costco offers good prices on any given item varies a lot.
