Can't upload just one
Jun. 19th, 2004 07:21 pmSeveral weeks ago, I did an LJ icon for
oceansedge. (Which she's been using as her default ever since -- woo!)
The original was 600x600 pixels because I like to work large. It also looked horrible at full size; I didn't bother cleaning it up since it was only going to be shrunk down anyway.
Today, I pulled out the original and spent some time retouching it and trying to make it look furrier.

[EDIT: This is, of course, another digital piece. This one's actually all digital -- no pencil sketch involved. Sketching on the computer seems to take a lot longer than it does on paper. It always makes me wish I had a larger monitor. And I already have a 19" monitor.]

And on a more serious note ... no, I haven't really considered it, actually. It seems like it would be fun to do occasionally, but that it would suck up massive amounts of time if done on a regular basis. I've done a handful of strips of my own, and I didn't even try to color those, on the presumption that it would suck up gobs of time.
Of course, my own line work is not neatly penned and flood-fillable, which would certainly save some time. And Scott Kellogg offered a nifty tip on saving time in the shading and highlighting process ....
How long do you spend coloring your strip?
Flood-fills only?

I never thought of that.
2 screens to run Image processing. Wow!
Now, I just have to get another good quality screen. :)
