The Time-Warner fellow came out and we have our cable modem back, hurrah! As Lut said: it's not quite home until the cable modem is installed. Now we have it, and my life can start to get back to normal.

Just as soon as I get a plumber and a roofer. I swear, I'm tempted to install a new sump pump myself. Home Depot sells them but doesn't install them. Home Depot, Lowe's, and Sears would all install a water heater for me, and for about 70% of what the two plumbers I've talked to want. Gah. Why do plumbers want so much more of a markup than a storefront does? I expected it to be the other way around. I'm still waiting on a call back from the last plumber. I also need a water pressure regulator. I don't even know where a water pressure regulator goes, much less how to install one. Blah.

In other news, I spent too much money on a washer/dryer, but, what the heck, at least it's done and I'll have it here on Saturday. And, gosh, it's so much nicer than the washer/dryers I'm used to in laundromats. Even the low-end front loader models are quite spiffy. Mmm.

That's it for now. Maybe I can get caught up on my friends list finally!

Hurrah for cable modems! I know you've been terribly busy lately; I've missed the occasional story segments, or just being able to bounce ideas off you. I've got a whole bunch of RP ideas - too many, with too many overlaps to use them ALL - that I want to run by somebody with some game-sense (someone not in my local playing group), to get some second opinions. =)

The house didn't come with a mailbox. O.o We bought a post and a box from Walmart, but we need some kind of mounting block thingie for it, too. Yeesh! If it ain't one thing, it's another, I'm tellin' ya.

I called the post office yesterday, and they said they hang on to our mail unti we have a mailbox. :( Hopefully getting a mailbox planted won't be too tough, once we've got that last mounting thing.
