Heehee. Point. I did buy the drawing tablet. I am, in fact, using it right now to color a picture. The version of Corel Photopaint that I typically use is not taking full advantage of the tablet's capabilities, I know. (The eraser function, for example, doesn't work.) Painter Classic, presumably a lobotomized version of Painter, came with the tablet, but I haven't tried it yet.
It is, indeed, a WHOLE LOT easier to paint with the tablet than with a trackball. But my results are still ... eh, I dunno. I'll see how it goes. It's an interesting toy.
