The battery is not designed to be replaced so getting it out is a Whole Process that is not guaranteed to work for an amateur. The battery may also not be the problem: sometimes charging port issues look like battery problems (tho I am pretty sure this is the battery, granted). For a 7 year-old phone, I think I'd rather use it until it dies and get a new one then invest time and money in overcoming an issue that is, for me, extremely minor.
