I would have said I've been having trouble finishing things, but I've actually read quite a few books so far in 2021. But I am starting even more and putting them down unread, and my TBR pile has some books by authors I like a lot that I just can't get myself to start.
Have you read any KJ Charles? You might try her newest, The Gentle Art of Fortune Hunting. M/m Regency. I like all her stuff, but some is intense/angsty, and this one is ... not entirely fluffy, because there's some serious attention paid to class differences and the risks to women in marriage, but light-hearted. Sometimes funny, sometimes touching. There are some pitch-perfect lines of dialog and description. And the reviews I've seen point out (and I agree) that the main characters earn their HEA and the character who deserves a comeuppance gets one.
