Yeah, they did get progressively less good as they went on, but it was a mild progression, I thought.

The main reason I remember it is because of the tape I have, "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy Live In Concert", with passages performed by Douglas Adams. The one in particular involved "Eddies in the space-time continuum" (Arthur: "And this is his sofa?") They escaped prehistoric Earth via an erratic Chesterfield sofa, which dumped them unceremoniously onto Lord's Cricket Ground in the year 198_ during a cricket match (before the Earth had been demolished). When the sports commentators were trying to come to grips with the materialization of Ford, Arthur, and the sofa, they were relieved to find that the sofa had once again disappeared, at which point one of them said, "Well, that's one mystery less!"

It loses something out of context, I admit.
