I could see doing some stories a bit like Hogarth's dream-healer short stories, though -- the "how to solve a problem" doesn't have to make the problem-solver miserable to be interesting! (Sherlock Holmes was generally not miserable, for instance, though his clients might've been before they sought his help...)
