*waves*. Hi - fellow sociology major, graduated into the '92 recession and found a similar job climate. I won't say I felt tricked, exactly, as to the job prospects of liberal arts majors in less-than-ideal times, I was just so into my studies that I never really put together a game plan for what I was going to do once I got out of college. Sounds naive, and maybe it was, but most academic institutions and professors don't approach things from a job-training perspective, because that's not how they were trained. I was fortunate enough to get into grad school and was able to defer my student loans for that time, otherwise things might have taken a much different turn.
