Further Arrangements Cover Poll: ROUND TWO. To the DEATH!

The triangular layout won the poll both on LJ and Twitter, which meant I had to spend some more time futzing with it because I really hated the section dividers on that version.

Most of the people on the poll respondents said "the cats are fine", but I remain undelighted by the original cat pose, so I re-did that, too. Hence, a few new versions to show off! Click through to see full-size versions.

Both pairs of cats are lovely, but my preference would be for the new pose. It fits much better with the other two images, being more similar in composition.

Regarding the trim, I do like the new decorative trim better than the plain one in principle, but I think it lacks contrast with the background. It's a little hard to see.

1: I like the old cat pose a bit better because the new one, alas, looks a lot like how one of the cats will try to side-swipe the other in a friendly fashion, while the other cat draws back with a "augh, YOU ARE IN MY FACE" expression. So, er, not romantic enough. >_> Or else Dark Greatcat is about to start wrassling Light Greatcat for the temerity of unexpected headbutt.

2: I am having concerns about whatcha gonna do with your name. It's crowding the arches. O:( Not so noticeable with the decorative ones, but the decorative arches don't have enough authority to separate the art-elements...

3: I like the decorative trim bits in the upper corners!

I prefer the original cat pose over the new cat pose. The new pose makes the layout feel like three isolated boxes, while the original pose with its dark greatcat looking up draws my eye from the cuddly cat couple frame to the kissing couple frame, making me feel like the set of three images are a deliberate group. Does that make sense?

When I first looked at the image (without clicking through to zoom), I did not see the decorative trim at all. While this may sound like an echo of the 'decorative trim lacks contrast' complaint, it isn't.

I really liked how I thought it looked without trim at all, just the edging of the figures themselves to create the shape.
