Thranthier: "It's complicated and legalish, but it comes down to 'we can't use any accusation he makes unless he also shows up in court'. The defendent has a right to face their accuser. The only exceptions are people physically unable to testify, like if they died after making a statement and before trial. We can have other people testify about what happened to him, but they're not as likely to be compelling."
