[brown rice] has a slightly nuttier taste but that's good, now white rice seems 'bland'.

Oh yes! And I've switched to whole wheat pasta, etc. I look at scones and muffins and think, oh I'd love those if only they were made with whole grains! De-fibred flour is like eating cotton candy now, just empty.

Definitely worth the effort to adjust to the taste and texture - so much more satisfying and tasty, too.
