I went back and looked at it again, and I don't get any of that out of it. Sorry. His expression is wandering all over the map for the whole exchange and the random panel with no words in it doesn't seem any different than the rest. I read it as 'he's about to give up and let her go (the panel with no words) then gets frustrated' which is why it's a shouted command instead of more pleading.
If he had a sudden evil expression or something I could see it be him looking at the leash but it looks more like he's looking at the floor.
