I have several reasons to think Minmax knew what the leash was when he grabbed it, that it wasn't just the first thing that came to hand when he moved to stop her. I listed them in my response to Terry, if you're curious.
I am still rooting for Kin & Minmax to get a happily-ever-after, but I'm not holding my breath. :/ (For one, the pace of the story is too slow for that to go well for me. c.c)
