I had noticed the prevalence of hot guys in urban fantasy, particularly "hot guys that all want the female protagonist", but them being generally useless without her was less evident to me. I am not sure if this is because I'm not reading the same examples of the genre as Micah or if it's just that I didn't notice. :)
