This is sensible as far as it goes, but I don't think you're going nearly far enough. You should give up on words altogether. Fortunately there is a sensible and useful alternative: formal mathematical logic. There are logics for all sorts of useful things -- time, obligation, and so on. I even tried working out a formal logic of manners when I was in grad school.
