Not a clue, though when you mentioned this, I got a major case of Deja Vu. Had a dream last night of some grey-skinned, white-haired pointy-eared girl with strange markings on her skin (as I write this, I'm suddenly realizing a connection to depictions of certain fictitious goddesses on Sinai), who was captured by a group of adventurers. I supposed that she was supposed to be a "Dark Elf," even though she wasn't the pitch black that's customary for Drow in the D&D universe. One of the adventurers - a fighter-slash-carrier-of-heavy-things - was persuaded that she meant no harm, whereas the others insisted that her Alignment was Evil, and that therefore she must be destroyed.
It's been bugging me all day for some reason; feeling like it needs to be fleshed out into a short story or something. I've been wanting to do a picture or two, but I've been distracted by other things.
No connection at all to your mystery grey elf, I'm sure, but I thought it coincidence enough to mention. =)
