Aunbrel cautioned her against calling them 'nest-partners' And whatever you do, don't try to snuggle them just because you want to sleep! You'll find them less agreeable than your, er, nest-partner. Ok, the "the city is a giant nest" analogy somewhat works, but it does make talking about nests kind of... confusing.
there was something vaguely unnerving about having freshly-scrubbed ceilings I am relatively certain that never in my life have I scrubbed a ceiling. Ever. Wait, how did she even reach the ceiling? I don't think she's that long, is she? Maybe she just has a long tongue... er, nevermind. Ew.
"But I like doing it." [...] "Maybe because you don't expect me to." There is something oddly motivating about doing something because you want to do something nice for someone, rather than because there's an (even implied) requirement for them to do so.
I actually feel safe. [...] To our very strange sort of nest [...] May it never be normal Awww. I think this is a very sweet way to end things! These two really do seem like they'll stay nest-mates for a long time to come. And maybe more! *grins a little* Sorry, they're just so cute together! I definitely wouldn't mind seeing more stories with them in the future. :)
