Schlock Mercenary is one of my favorite comics (tied in a dead heat with Girl Genius for the spot of "favorite"), and howardtayler just opened up preorders for the chronologically first book. Go buy a copy! If you order today you can get a sketch edition, hand-vandalized by the cartoonist himself. I'm really looking forward to reading the book -- some of my favorite story arcs were in the first 1000 strips and I was sad when he started printing books with a story arc much later into the series.

If you don't want to commit to buying, you can still read the comic for free. G'wan, take a look. And don't let the art quality on the early strips put you off: the quality of the writing more than makes up for it.
