Saturday with Art, Errand, and Writing
Mar. 11th, 2023 05:57 pmToday was surprisingly crowded, and I can actually remember what I was doing for all of that time, for a change.
I woke up around 8AM, and lazed in bed for half an hour playing with my phone, before hauling myself upright and getting breakfast. From then until 10AM, I ate breakfast and played Race for the Galaxy.
From 10AM to around 12:20, I did Craft & Chat with Ciel and Anke, where I drew a picture of two of Ciel's characters dancing.
After Craft & Chat, I puttered around for a little bit, then got dressed and left to pick up my grocery order around 1PM. After I brought home groceries and finished putting them away, I helped Lut with some questions he had about his Chromebook.
(Me: "No, no, you are my tech support. I can't give you tech support."
Lut: "Sometimes the student becomes the master.")
Once I finished with that, I gave Telnar a call back -- he'd called while I was dealing with groceries. We talked for about an hour, while I paced briskly around my house by way of exercise. After the phone call, at 3PM, Lut and I took a shower. Then I made lunch/dinner for myself, played some more RftG, and cooked a hamburger for Lut. At that point, it was time for CoffeeQuills' stream at 5PM.
Coffee is running a 12-hour stream tonight (they live in Japan, so it's 8AM to 8PM their time and 5PM to 5AM my time). I will not be hanging out for all twelve hours because the days when I did all-nighters are long past. Honestly, I'm not sure all-nighters worked for me even when I was in my twenties in college. I did them sometimes but I feel like it's less "I'm not resilient enough for doing this to make sense" and more "I have enough experience now to know I'm not resilient enough to do this, and probably I never was."
I should be writing The Jewel-Strewn Night now, but I am feeling a loggy and tired. On the weekends, I usually try to get in an afternoon nap and I failed at this today.
But the stream will be running many more hours; it won't do any harm for me to spend a little bit of it writing a blog post instead.
Anyway, I often wonder when I get to the evening on the weekends "what happened to my day? Didn't I plan to do stuff?" So it's nice to retrace my steps and see what I actually did. Much of it was even productive! It just wasn't editing or writing. Or making an estimate for the length of The Jewel-Strewn Night. (I finished the outline but I haven't chucked it into a spreadsheet and gone through it to make my usual point-by-point estimate.)
The other thing I'd wanted to do today was watch a movie with Lut. Oops. Maybe tomorrow. <_<
