Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity-Jig
Aug. 13th, 2007 11:00 amI went to Orlando this weekend for
prester_scott's ordination. Which was awesome and inspirational, by the way. Thank you for inviting me, Scott. :)
It was a thirty-six hour visit:
koogrr picked me up at the airport at 10:30 on Friday evening and dropped off at 10:30 on Sunday morning. At the reception after the ordination,
gen asked me where I was going after this trip, because with all the traveling I do lately she thought it might be a stop on one of my multi-leg tours.
Actually, I'm not going anywhere new for three whole weeks. Almost three weeks, anyway: Labor Day weekend I'm flying out to New Hampshire to visit my much-neglected parents. Which will make my fourth flight in eight weeks. And all of them leisure trips. Yowch.
After New Hampshire, I'll stay home for several weeks. I promised
kagetsume that if he'd dress up as Final Fantasy's Vincent, I'd visit him and
sophrani for Halloween. Which I am really really hoping to do, and Kage's still talking about doing the costume so hopefully it'll happen. I will have to pick some FF7/Advent Children/Dirge of Cerebrus character to costume as, which might be easier if I'd ever played any of the games. But in any case, that won't be until the last weekend in October.
I have today off from work, because I'd asked for it off before I bought the plane tickets and discovered that flying back on Monday would cost much more than flying back Sunday and would be less convenient for all involved. So I could have gone to work today easily enough, but I decided to keep it as a day to recover from travelling.
Which feels incredible decadent. A whole day with no travel plans, no work, no one else around and nothing that I have to do. Mmm. I may do something productive, like laundry or cleaning, or I may laze the whole time away, for extra decadence points. It does feel very strange to have a day off and not have specific plans for it. Strange and nice.
