I'm glad you had a good time! That long line did not bode well.

I've not actually heard them, but they sound more than a little like Pink Floyd in the lyrics area.

Thinking about this, I find that I enjoy a fair number of Pink Floyd pieces despite their very different worldview -- and I do pay attention to the lyrics. In fact, the line EmilyDM quoted below sounds very much like something from "Comfortably Numb".

"Sympathy for the Devil" I actively enjoy; it's clever enough lyrically and muscially to suspend thinking about the intent.

And yet ... John Lennon's "Imagine" is annoying. Perhaps if it had been better, more clever music, it might have worked.

Thinking about the refrain you quoted -- it may be that Queensryche has missed something essential. It does not seem that the biggest problem witbh news media is payoffs to crooks -- I think that they are deciding what to tell us based on what they think serves their cause. In their minds, many of them think they are doing the right thing distorting and witholding information. As a ... very famous politician ... said a few weeks ago, "We're going to take things away from you for your own good."

The result can be as bad or worse, but we have to understand the cause to fix it.
