Oh, and I replaced a couple of icons. I figure I should start replacing my icons periodically, so that as I get older it's not such a shock to my LJ readers. The new ones were from pictures taken a year ago, so not really recent, but at least closer.

Of course, I really should've replaced the seven-year-old Glamour Shots photos first, but I so like that one over-the-shoulder pose .... :D

And I didn't know LJ was handing out another 5 icons to paid users for no additional charge. Woo! Maybe I'll take some new pictures to upload, and cover some additional emotions, like "depressed" and "confused".

I've never mentioned it, but I really like your selection of icons and the way you use them as additional expression.

(I've thought of emulating it, but I haven't managed to find the right pictures to symbolize myself and I'm not sure I want to stare at my own face all the time.)

What I really wanted to use was a series of expressive cartoony drawings. (godkin's icons do that, for example.)

But I couldn't decide on an avatar image to use for myself. I threw up a few pictures of me at random, just to have some kind of icon in the interim. When, a year later, I still hadn't decided what to use for an avatar, and people were occassionally commenting on how stern I looked in my existing pictures, I just went through and populated my icon list with ten different headshots. I have tons of pictures of myself, from people taking picture of me at conventions and then sending me copies. So I had more to choose from than most.

But if you didn't want to look at photos of yourself, I bet you could talk your husband into doing some variety of doodles of you to use ... :D
