Had time to:

Shop for headset jack adaptors (didn't take long, I do surgical strike shopping.)

Spotcheck the mall for bookstores (none listed on the 'you are here', mall is basically a giant pit with stores in the wall of the pit, three levels, lots of criss-crossing ramps, so its easy to find a spot where you can see most of the mall, and then a second to scan the rest.)

Go back out to the car, drive about 6 blocks to the Barnes & Noble, browse the shelves in the SF section, snag a book I hadn't read yet.

Drive back. Park. Browse the food court. Find something worth eating (bacon&turkey wrap at Subway, surprisingly good).

Finish food. Read book, at a bit less than my usual abnormally high reading rate (why is he flipping the pages casually, and not reading...wait, he is reading...)

Twiddle thumbs for a bit, maybe 20 minutes.

Buy some chili-cheese fries, slowly munch through them.

Twiddle thumbs some more, wishing I had the sense to make sure Rowan had the cell-phone.

Rowan arrives to rescue me.

Jack is doomed. _Two females needing clothes, a third just 'helping', and not just any clothes. And the shoppers in question are herd animals, and herbivores, neither of which categories Jack falls into.

Doomed, doomed, doomed.
