'Course, the advantage is that I *can* fix them. Or hire someone to fix them. The trouble with living in someone else's building is that their problems -- leaky roof, non-functioning A/C, no heat, etc. -- are your problems. But you can't fix them; you have to rely on the owners to do that when you complain.
This is more expensive than complaining to my landlord, but I sort of like being able to take direct action. :)
