I don't want to be hard on people who don't like dress-up, certainly. I can even see how the hypersexual outfits make some people genuinely uncomfortable to be around, because as a culture we have a lot of weird baggage around bodies and sex. I want a live-and-let-live environment, but the pressure to conform cuts in all directions. If you have a lot of people cosplaying, it can make the ones who aren't feel marginalized and out of place. It's just ... difficult.
