I like keeping tabs on Nene Thomas from time to time. I actually knew her before she went pro in Oklahoma. She was a member of a small art group known as the Zodiac Carousel who held monthly meetings and who made a point of reserving panels at all the local cons. Nene's art was more noveau and "busy" back then... and in all honesty I think I liked it a little better. Much in the same way that sometimes I prefer a sketch over a finished picture sometimes.
