Still Uncovered

But inching closer. These are my two contenders at present; I can't quite making up my mind whether I like the nested "A Rational" or not. I think it looks a little more elegant and is a little less readable. Hrmph.

[livejournal.com profile] alinsa wanted to take a stab at it, so I will see what she comes up with before I make my final decision. But I don't think I'll be making any more significant changes myself. Perhaps fiddling with the teaser text.

If it's any help, I like the nested one as well.

The nested one is more of a grabber. It'll sell better.

So do I. I was impressed and pleased by the sheer good sense of the idea of polling for the cover; getting a consensus is exactly how to find out what people will pay money for.

(And even when it gets to the review stage it's still useful, at least in identifying a clique; the use of identical catchphrases, for instance.)

suggestion for a third option: Maybe a compromise with the first "A" right of the second, but the second not quite so huge?

I like the cover better without the border. :)

I'm also not a fan of how big the A in Arrangement is in the second version. It stands out, but it feels a little unbalanced.

On the art, I'd suggest lightening the darkness of the dancers to left and right, you want the attention to be on the center figures, not peering at the figures to the side. ;)

You can always wrap the dancers around a physical cover... O;>

I was kind of thinking that ... add a few more of various varieties and distances around to the back...

With this font, I definitely like nested. Sowwy!

If you want two lines of coverblurb there, the nested one of these two is much better, because the title and coverblurb aren't crowding each other. Un-nested, the larger title is crowding.

You can't go wrong with Harrington.

(Geez, that sounds like I'm running for office.)

I decided that I liked the first cover's title text and the second cover's blurb, so I took the liberty of remixing them into a combined version.
