Writing exercise?

I forgot to bring my book of writing exercises to work today. Anyone want to give me an assignment? n.n

Sure. Here are two writing prompts from the last two episodes of Writing Excuses

1) Write a fight scene in which the two participants know nothing about fighting. Things to pay attention to: Blocking (as in "stage direction," not "deflecting punches"), pacing, and emotional impact.

2) Write two 25-word blurbs about your most recent work, as if it were a finished novel you're shopping to editors. The first blurb is to convince an editor or agent to read the manuscript and buy it. The second is dust-jacket text to convince a reader to pick up the book and buy it.

Enjoy!

Sure. Explain some very basic human activity --eating breakfast, say -- to the aliens.

Write a short story in rhyming couplets. :)

Alternatively, write a story in which "everybody dies" is the happy ending.

Or do both. ;)
