Very short weekend update

telnar visited this weekend, and we had a great time. Played lots of games, including Robo Rally. For some silly reason I thought that Robo Rally was one of those games that needed 4+ players for. Actually, was lots of fun with just the Lut, Telnar, and me. Much more fun than I remember it being, in fact. I should install "Bots & Scouts" so I can play it online with them.

I have realized that I've been much too busy living my life lately to write about it. Next few weekends should be quiet; maybe I can get caught up then.

Well, cheers for great times! And quiet weekends have much to recommend them. I can accomplish the first at the moment, and the second ... soon, I hope. ];-)

telnar seems like a very good sort, other than a suspicious tendency to sound like ... well, a bit like me. ];-)

But he is well-informed, and I've seen him hold his own in potentially stressful discussions. I have much respect for him. That he is a good friend as well is a nice bonus!

Thank you. Your writing has given me good reason to respect you as well, even if I don't share your definition of "stressful." I've lived a fortunate life and never had to worry about possibilities like whether someone listening to me was a KGB informant when I talked about politics. Most of us are lucky enough to be in situations where stress is a choice rather than a requirement of self defense.

Well, I noted "potentially stressful" -- and I can say that I am very much in favor of not being stressed in situations that many people take as stressful. I do try to emulate that mode myself, with a fair degree of success. ]:-)

Yes, as you say, we're quite fortunate! Most of us do not realize how very much this is true.

Your commentary, as I noted earlier, is excellent -- and I am pleased to share forum-space, and other sorts of space, with you.
