The Last Unicorn

"Where? Where have you been all these years? Where have you been?"

"I'm here now."

Oh yes, I remember this clearly

...if little else from the book.

Yeah

One of my absolute favorite lines from the book/movie.

Wasn't Molly Grue was in tears when she said that?
And Schmendrick seemed taken back that she spoke to the Unicorn in such a way.

There are so many memorable quotes.
Another one that sticks in my mind:

The Unicorn spoke quietly to him. "You are a true wizard now, as you always wished. Does it make you happy?"
"Well," said Schmendrick slowly, "Men don't always know when they're happy but, I...I think so."

Yes. And Schmendrick is one of my favorite magicians and probably the only one I could ever trust. :-)

"Where were you twenty years ago? Ten years ago? Where were you when I was new? When I was one of those innocent young maidens you always come to? How dare you! How dare you come to me now, when I am this!"

You have no idea how much restraint it's taking me to not turn this into a Pythonesque argument between the two characters. ':)

(And then only because I haven't read the book and therefore feel I don't have the "right".)

This is not deserving of Dead Parody, I think.

At another time, it might be open season. But I am pleased at your restraint! You have many talents, apparently. ];-)

One of my favorite scenes to remember is the one where Schmendrick conjures up the visions of Robin and his men, and the outlaw band is all agape at their dreams made life.
