I think you may have a point about the characters in the "Paper-reading Lady" story. (It seems to me there's a good surrealist story in here, somewhere, but I haven't figured out how to finish it.) Like a scene out of "Groundhog Day".

I like that word, "skliding". Like a cross between skiing and gliding. Wouldn't that be a great sport?
