*drops in here via a recommendation from a squirrely friend* Alternatively, since it is a far future setting, they may have just plain solved the one thing that 'gimps' existing computer RPGs compared to tabletop games--an AI behind the scenes that *can* adjust when a player does something totally weird, insane, and/or off the rails. Though the mention of scripts being triggered possibly denies that answer...
