You just don't do that sort of thing when you're a grown-up. It's not acceptable: you're inconveniencing them, imposing, intruding.

Boy, does this sound familiar. Remember our conversation about why it felt weird to me to call you without some sort of reason, other than simply, "Hey, it would be cool to talk to Rowyn right now"? This pretty well sums up my feelings. I'm glad I'm moving slowly beyond that, although I'm not quite sure I'll ever become brave enough to knock on an unknown neighbor's door just to strike up a conversation. ;-)
