I like the idea of a PC whose weaknesses are as interesting to roleplay as his strengths.
The only potential problem with it that I can think of would come in a campaign which is clearly organized around a goal (whether it's to save the world or rescue the princess or slay the big bad evil guy...). A campaign like that will probably work better if the PCs limit their failures to non-critical situations.
