I thought about getting an Edwardian coat at the time, and the whole fact that "old-fashioned jackets are sometimes available through mainstream retailers at reasonable prices" has stuck with me. I think the reason I remembered Newport News in particular is that it's one of the few mainstream sites that comes up for a search on any of the terms I've tried (Renaissance/Edwardian/Regency/Victorian jacket etc.)

In any case, I am glad that you pointed them out to me, lo those years ago, 'cause otherwise I wouldn't've thought to try mainstream clothing sites for this sort of thing. :)
